With all of the chocolate going on in many of the recipes i have posted i decided on something a little different and a little more involved.
These are Cherry Bars that will require some baking and a little more preparation than some of the other recipes posted.
You will however love the end result as it is a really great treat for yourself and the family. Here is the recipe:

Fresh  Cream Cheese Cherry  Bars Ingredients:

1 cups of softened butter
2 cups of raw sugar
1 tsp of sea salt
4 large eggs
1/2 tsp of almond – extract
1 tsp of vanilla – extract
3 cups of flour
1 tsp of baking powder
2 cans of cherry-pie filling

For the Cheesecake Layer:
1 package of softened cream cheese
1/4 cup of raw sugar
1 large egg

For The Glaze:
1 cup of icing sugar, also known as confectioners’ sugar
1/2 tsp of almond – extract
1/2 tsp of vanilla – extract
2-3 tbsp of whole milk

Start by pre-heating the oven to about 350 degrees F.

Using a stand-mixer, begin by creaming together the softened butter, the sugar, together with the sea salt until the mixture is fluffy and light. Include the eggs one by one and Beat following every addition. Next, put in vanilla and the almond extract. Lastly, slowly put in the baking powder and the flour.

Distribute around 2 1/2 cups of this mixture right into a greased 15 x 10 x 1 inch cooking sheet.

Using a large size bowl, whip together the cream cheese, the sugar, along with the egg. Add this onto the top of the very first layer of the batter. After that, spread-out the cherry-pie filling.

Drop the leftover mixture by the spoonful  on the filling. Bake around 35 – 40 minutes or until it is golden brown. Cool in the pan.

As soon as the bars are cool, in a smaller bowl blend together the icing sugar, the extracts, and also enough whole milk so as to attain a drizzling texture. Then drizzle all over the top.
